A real estate family office is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to build and lead the company’s internal finance and accounting infrastructure. This is a high-impact leadership role focused on developing scalable systems and processes, overseeing financial operations, supporting strategic transactions, and partnering closely with ownership on the financial direction of the business.

Responsibilities

• Build and strengthen the company’s internal finance and accounting structure, including systems, processes, controls, and reporting workflows
• Oversee all internal accounting and finance functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, and treasury operations
• Lead relationships with banks, lenders, and financial partners, including ongoing reporting, financing activity, and refinancing efforts
• Support acquisitions and dispositions through financial analysis, transaction coordination, due diligence, and integration planning
• Develop scalable financial infrastructure to support the continued growth and complexity of the organization
• Partner closely with ownership and leadership on strategic financial planning and operational decision-making
• Evaluate and implement technology, reporting tools, and process improvements to increase efficiency and visibility across the organization
• Build, mentor, and lead the internal finance and accounting team while fostering accountability and strong execution
• Over time, take on broader oversight of portfolio and asset-level financial operations as the organization continues to expand

Requirements

• Experience as a CFO, VP of Finance, Senior Controller, or similar senior finance leadership role
• Real estate experience preferred, though strong candidates from other industries will also be considered
• Strong leadership presence with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable operating in entrepreneurial environments with the ability to bring structure, stability, and steady leadership
• Agile, adaptable, and able to think quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Innovative and adaptable, with the ability to adjust quickly while staying on the cutting edge of new technology and business practices
• Proven ability to build departments, implement structure, and lead teams effectively
• Strong experience with financial reporting, banking relationships, financing activity, and operational finance management
