Overview

We are seeking an experienced operational leader to oversee an established Payroll Services division within a rapidly growing healthcare organization.

This individual will lead a large team responsible for payroll operations while driving process improvement, operational excellence, leadership development, and continued growth of the business. The department is already highly successful; the focus is on maintaining that success while identifying opportunities to further strengthen and scale the operation.

This role is ideal for an executive who enjoys building teams, mentoring leaders, improving processes, and creating an outstanding employee experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the Payroll Services division
• Manage and develop supervisors, managers, and department leaders
• Drive operational excellence and continuous process improvement
• Maintain high levels of client satisfaction while balancing operational efficiency
• Develop future leaders within the organization
• Partner closely with executive leadership on strategy and business initiatives
• Oversee staffing, organizational planning, and team structure
• Monitor operational metrics and implement improvements where needed
• Foster a collaborative, positive, and accountable department culture
• Ensure scalable systems and processes that support continued organizational growth

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading large operational teams
• Exceptional people leadership and emotional intelligence (EQ)
• Strong operational mindset with the ability to manage complex workflows
• Experience building, mentoring, and developing leaders
• Executive presence with excellent communication skills
• Strategic thinker who is equally comfortable executing day-to-day operations
• Payroll services or related back-office operations experience is preferred but not required
• Healthcare experience is a plus
