Director of Therapy Services

Location: Lakewood, NJ

A growing skilled nursing operator is seeking a Director of Therapy Services to provide strategic leadership and oversight of its therapy programs across a growing portfolio of nursing facilities.

This is a unique corporate leadership role focused on elevating therapy services as a key differentiator for the organization. Working closely with ownership, the Director of Therapy Services will oversee third-party therapy providers, develop innovative therapy initiatives, strengthen restorative programming, optimize reimbursement opportunities, and ensure high-quality therapy services across the portfolio.

The ideal candidate is a licensed Physical Therapist (PT) or Occupational Therapist (OT) with nursing home leadership experience who enjoys building programs, collaborating with executive leadership, and driving operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic oversight of therapy services across multiple skilled nursing facilities
• Partner with ownership to develop and execute the organization’s therapy vision
• Oversee and manage relationships with outsourced therapy providers
• Evaluate therapy performance, quality, and operational effectiveness
• Develop and implement innovative therapy and restorative care programs
• Identify opportunities to improve resident outcomes and satisfaction
• Review therapy documentation and MDS components to support accurate reimbursement
• Monitor therapy-related compliance and regulatory standards
• Partner with clinical and operational leadership to improve performance across the portfolio
• Identify operational efficiencies and best practices to support continued organizational growth

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) or Occupational Therapist (OT)
• Nursing home or post-acute care leadership experience
• Experience managing therapy operations, programs, or rehabilitation services
• Strong strategic thinking and operational leadership skills
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
• Ability to collaborate effectively with executive leadership and third-party partners

Preferred Experience

• Director of Rehabilitation or Regional Therapy leadership experience
• Corporate therapy operations experience
• Experience overseeing outsourced therapy vendors
• Strong understanding of MDS, PDPM, and skilled nursing reimbursement
• Experience developing new clinical or therapy initiatives
